Rosie the Riveter is a sweet, chill older lady (age 8) who has been at the shelter 8 months. She is super cute, compact and likes to mainly lay around on soft couch and take a short walk. She is just likes to hang out! She does need a home with no cats because she doesn’t understand the concept of a cat as a pet- she wants to chase them! My family fostered her for about 5 days in September (2026) and she was a perfect dog, great with our senior dog, easy to walk, low maintenance as she just lies around and wants belly rubs. Due to the cat chasing, high prey drive issue, we couldn’t keep her. Super cute gal! if you have a comfy couch and no cats and like a low key, sweet friend, a Rosie is your gal! Kipper is small 25 lbs. terrier also at Alachua County Animal Services (ID #61835436). Very Cute and he could use some TLC!

To apply to FOSTER at Alachua County Animal Services follow this link; you can also volunteer to take a dog out on a doggie- day- out which helps socialize a dog and give you a feel for how your potential foster dog fits with you and your family. That would require a volunteer training which is about an hour. There are also other volunteer opportunities available.
